My Journey

good fit

Sometimes, life unravels in the least expected way. I, for one can bear witness to one such surprise that life sent my way. Born and raised in an entrepreneurial family, I naturally chose to study Business as well, starting with a graduation in Economics and Entrepreneurship and eventually moving onto complete my MSc. in Management from Manchester Business School. The idea of being a life coach would have never crossed my mind had it not been for the kind words and an acknowledgement to a 12 year old boy, whose smile still lingers in my memory. A few kind words had inadvertently made a small difference in his life but certainly changed my whole life. A few encouraging, kind words, thats all.

And then, there was no looking back. Eager & intrigued by the impact it had on me I started researching about coaching, counselling or any such field. My research brought me to Coach for Life, Orlando, a year later. It finally seemed like all the hard work had paid off. Peter and Marcia were my guiding light and thus, began my beautiful journey.

My coach certification journey began in March, 2018. Expecting it to be all grim and formal, I was surprised to be welcomed in a warm and dog friendly (our dear Leroy) class with Peter and my mother/mentor/friend Joanna. My little inkling had finally taken roots in that room. It was truly an eye opening and inspiring experience, I learnt more than I could have ever imagined. I was coached in all spheres of life. Self love, compassion and most important of all self belief. I was taught how to nurture myself, something we forget easily and perhaps my most important lesson. One of the most empowering moments for me was when Peter asked me to do was replace the word ‘yourself’ with ‘myself’ and repeat a sentence. I was on a journey of self discovery and there was no stopping me this time.

Now fast forward to The Certification part of my coaching journey. Even when I was shrouded in self doubt and was skeptical of my own potential, my cohort members helped me believe in myself. They encouraged me and helped me in the best way possible. I looked within to find the strength and direction that was required and with the help of my cohort members succeeded.

The culmination of all my efforts was on 21st December, 2018 the day I became a Certified Life Coach. It filled me with renewed hope and joy because it got me closer to my goal in life. I can finally help people through life coaching and nothing in life would make me happier than that.

Peter, Marcia, Joanna, Jodi, Daniela, Manmeet, Neha, Veena, Jules, if only I could express my gratitude in words! If it weren’t for you guys, I would have never reached here.

As many of you must know, I am an extremely private person but I wanted to share this journey with everyone. I hope these words and my journey will inspire you to embark on your own adventure.
